RES 17-012RESOLUTIONNO.17-012ARESOLUTIONoftheCityCounciloftheCityofCamasrelatingtosalariesandbenefitsfornon-representedemployees.WHEREAS,wageandbenefitadjustmentsfornon-representedemployeesfor2017wereputonholdpendingsubstantialresolutionofnewbargainingagreementswiththeCity’sexistingbargainingunitsandthecompletionofasalarystudywhichwasanticipatedtobecompletedinFebruary2017;andWHEREAS,consequently,non-representedemployeesoftheCityofCamasweresubjecttothe2016adoptedsalaryschedulethroughJune30,2017;andWHEREAS,theCitycontinuestobargain,buthassubstantiallyconcludednewbargainingagreementswiththeCity’sexistingbargainingunits;andWHEREAS,asalarystudyfornon-representedemployeeswascompletedandwasacceptedbytheCityCouncilbymotionatthemeetingofJuly17,2017,withthedirectivethatthesalarystudybeclarifiedandadditionalreviewcompletedforCouncil;andWHEREAS,onJuly17,2017,byResolutionNo.17-010,theCounciladoptedsalaryscalesfornon-representedemployeeswithaneffectivedateofJuly1,2017;andWHEREAS,theCityCounciloftheCityofCamasshallconsidertheclarificationstotheaforementionedsalarystudyandexpressestheintenttoamendResolutionNo.17-010atsuchtimewiththeadoptionofarevisedsalaryschedulefornon-representedemployees,withaneffectivedateofAugust1,2017,inordertokeepthecompensationplancompetitivewithcomparableagenciesandtomaintaincompensationatalevelwhichwillattractandretainqualityemployees. RESOLUTIONNO.17-012NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDbytheCounciloftheCityofCamasasfolllows:SectionIResolutionNo.17-010shallbeamended,andthesalaryscalesforallnon-representedemployees,includingseasonalemployeesandinterns,shallbesetforthinasalaryscheduleattachedthereto,withaneffectivedateofAugust1,2017,atsuchtimeastheCouncilconsiderstheclarificationtothesalarystudyreferredtoherein,butinnoeventlaterthanOctober3,2017.SectionIIADOPTEDbytheCounciloftheCityofCamasandapprovedbytheMayorthis21stdayofAugust,2017.VSIGNED:ATTESTerkAPPROVEDastoform:/CityAttorney
