RES 15-006RESOLUTIONNO.15-006ARESOLUTIONestablishinganEmergencyUtilityAssistanceProgram.WHEREAS,itisintheinterestoftheCityofCamastoassistintheprovisionofemergencyutilityservices;andWHEREAS,theCityofCamashasestablishedacomponentoftheWater/SewerFund#424,throughtheCity’sadopted2015budget,afundforthepurposeofassistinglowincomecustomers,topreventwatershutoff.NOW,THEREFORE,BEITRESOLVEDBYTHECOUNCILOFTHECITYOFCAMASASFOLLOWS:ITheCityofCamasherebyadoptsanEmergencyUtilityAssistanceProgramsubjecttothetermsandconditionslistedbelow:1.Eligibility.Uponsatisfactoryproof,emergencyassistancemaybeissuedtoeachhouseholdforwhich:a.AmemberofthehouseholdisbilledbytheCityforwaterservices;b.ThehouseholdhasbeenverifiedbytheCityortheCity’sagent:1.Tohaveanannualincomethat,whencombinedwiththeannualincomeofallhouseholdmembers,isbelow125%ofthefederalpovertyguideline;and2.Tonotreceivesubsidizedhousingassistance.c.ThehouseholdhasreceivednoticefromtheCitythatpaymentorpaymentarrangementsmustbemadetopreventdisconnection;d.ThehouseholdisservedwithCitywaterserviceataresidential,single-familyaccount. 2.EmergencyCredit-Maximum.Uponverificationofeligibility,thehouseholdmayreceiveanemergencycreditofamaximumoftwohundredfifty($250.00)dollarsofthedelinquentbillfortheserviceaddress;providedthatthehouseholdmayonlyreceivesuchcreditonceinatwelve(12)calendarmonthperiod.IIADOPTEDbytheCounciloftheCityofCamasandapproyedbytheMayorthis4thdayofMay,2015.cjjkSIGNED:MayorATTEST:ClerkAPPROVEDastoform:CityAttorney
