A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CAMAS,WASHINGTON,SUPPORTING
THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES LEVY
WHERAS,The citizens of Camas,Washougal and East County Fire rely on professional
paramedic and ambulance services;and
WHEREAS,The Cities of Camas and Washougal,together with East County Fire,have
worked in unison,through the creation of the East County EMS,to provide their citizens
the finest,cost effective emergency medical response system in Clark County;and
WHEREAS,East County Emergency Medical Service has provided continuous
paramedic and ambulance service for over two decades without levy funded increases;
and
WHEREAS,The personnel that operate East County Medical Services live and raise their
families in our neighborhoods,the high quality care they provide is a reflection of both
their community pride and local knowledge,and
WHEREAS,The requested levy increase of ten cents per One Thousand Dollars of
assessed valuation will enable the East County Medical Service to maintain the high
quality service our citizens expect and provide the resources necessary for our growing
communities,
NOW,THEREFORE IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CAMAS,AS FOLLOWS :
The East County Emergency Medical Service is a vital function of our community that
consistently provides rapid,professional paramedic assistance to our citizens.The service
has been operated cooperatively and efficiently resulting in lower ambulance service
costs to our citizens while providing the highest level of service within Clark County.
The requested modest levy increase will allow the continuation of this high caliber
service for our growing communities.For these reason the City of Camas respectfully
requests our citizens to support this levy increase and vote yes on the Levy for
Emergency Medical Services.
