RES 045RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION authorizing the City of Camas Police Chief to
transfer or sell any motor vehicle forfeited pursuant to the procedures
established in RCW Chapter 10.105.
WHEREAS,RCW Chapter 10.105 authorizes the seizure and forfeiture of certain personal
property,including motor vehicles,utilized in the commission of a felony offense;and
WHEREAS,the City of Camas Police Department has established procedures relating to
disposition of certain personal property deemed to be forfeited according to RCW Chapter 10.105;
and
WHEREAS,particularly in offenses relating to drug felonies,the City of Camas Police
Department has come into possession of motor vehicles forfeited pursuant to RCW Chapter 10.105;and
WHEREAS,the intent of this resolution is to provide special authority to the City of Camas
Police Chief to transfer or otherwise dispose of motor vehicles forfeited pursuant to RCW Chapter
10.105,and to further authorize the City of Camas Police Chief to transfer or otherwise dispose of
motor vehicles received in trade from any forfeited motor vehicle,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS
AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I
The City of Camas Police Chief is hereby authorized to transfer,sell,trade,or receive value in
credit through a licensed dealer,or at public auction,for any motor vehicle forfeited to the City of Camas,
pursuant to the procedures outlined in RCW Chapter 10.105.
SECTION II
The City of Camas Police Chief is hereby authorized to transfer,sell,trade,or receive
value in credit through a licensed dealer,or at public auction,for any motor vehicle received in
trade from any motor vehicle forfeited to the City of Camas.
