A RESOLUTION adopting the Camas-Washougal Comprehensive
Emergency Management Plan,which organizes the preparedness,
response,recovery,and mitigation activities of Camas and Washougal
government.
WHEREAS,emergency management is a critical function of government and all levels of city
government and its allied organizations have a responsibility for protecting life,property,and the
environment in a disaster.
WHEREAS,an effective,comprehensive emergency plan is essential to ensure the continuity
of government operations,and the mobilization of city resources to protect life,property,and the
environment.
WHEREAS,the cities of Camas and Washougal currently have no formally executed
emergency plan.
WHEREAS,the cities of Camas and Washougal have joined together to develop a joint
emergency plan and a joint emergency operations center that will maximize mutual support between
the two cities during emergencies.
WHEREAS Washington Administrative Code 118-30 requires that each political subdivision
of the state promulgate an emergency plan which addresses several subjects described in the law and
that the emergency plan be promulgated by letter signed by the current executive head .
WHEREAS the cities of Camas and Washougal have worked with Clark Regional Emergency
Services Agency to develop a plan that is compliant with state and federal requirements and that
establishes policies for emergency management operations in Camas and Washougal.
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED,BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS,
to approve and promulgate the Camas-Washougal Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan and
directing that all preparedness,response,recovery,and mitigation activities be done in accordance
with this plan.
