RES 944RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION of the City of Camas,Washington,adopting
the Clark County Solid Waste/Moderate Risk Waste Management
Plan Update.
WHEREAS,as authorized by RCW 70.95.080,the City of Camas and Clark County have
previously adopted joint city/county plans in 1973,1981 ,1985 (with amendments to the 1985
plan adopted in 1988 and 1989)and 1994;and
WHEREAS,pursuant to that agreement,representatives of the City of Camas have
worked with the Clark County staff and Solid Waste Advisory Commission in the preparation
and review of a draft Solid Waste/Moderate Risk Waste Management Plan Update;and
WHEREAS,a need exists to update the 1994 plan,due primarily to the requirements of
state law and the changes that have occurred within the county due to growth and development,
as well as changes to state and federal regulations;and
WHEREAS,the City has delegated preparation of the Comprehensive Solid Waste
Management Plan to the County by interlocal agreement;and
WHEREAS,the City has been represented throughout the planning process;and
WHEREAS,the plan update adopted herein has been recommended by the Solid Waste
Advisory Commission;
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Camas,State of
Washington,that the City of Camas hereby adopts Clark County Comprehensive Solid
Waste/Moderate Risk Waste Management Plan Update.
ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Council of the City of Camas this day of
September,2002.
