A RESOLUTION establishing procedures for calculating
reimbursement of costs incurred by the City in repairing or
replacing city property damaged in traffic accidents.
WHEREAS,from time to time,signposts,traffic signs,guard rails,plantings,and other
city property is damaged in traffic accidents,and
WHEREAS,the City desires to adopt a standardized procedure for calculating
reimbursement of costs incurred by the City in replacing or repairing city property damaged in
traffic accidents,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Camas as
follows:
Section I
Any person who damages signposts,street signs,guard rails,plantings,or other property
of the City in a traffic accident shall reimburse the City for the cost or repair and/or replacement
thereof.
Section II
The reimbursement amount to be paid to the City shall be the sum of the following:
1.The actual cost of replacement materials or materials used to effect a repair;
2.The cost of labor calculated by multiplying the number of hours by the City employee
or employees in effecting the repair or replacement times the hourly wage rate for each of such
employees with a minimum charge of $75.00;and
3.The cost of renting any equipment for such repairs or replacement computed by
multiplying the number of hours such equipment is used times the rental rate for such equipment
as established in the City’s equipment rental resolution.
Section III
Resolution 879 is hereby repealed.
