ORD 2188ORDINANCENO.ANORDINANCErepealingOrdinanceNo.2184;andlevyingtheadvaloremtaxesnecessarytofinancetheanticipatedrequirementsoftheCityofCamasforthefiscalyearendingDecember31,1999.WHEREAS,theCouncilhasproperlygivennoticeofthepublichearingsheldonNovember23,1998,andJanuary4,1999,toconsidertheCityofCamasbudgetforthe1999calendaryear,pursuanttoRCW84.55.120;andWHEREAS,theCouncilhaspreviouslyadoptedOrdinanceNo.2184onNovember23,1998,relatingtoadvaloremtaxesnecessarytofinancetheanticipatedrequirementsoftheCityofCamasforthefiscalyearendingDecember31,1999;andWHEREAS,theCouncilhasbeeninformedthatOrdinanceNo.2184mustbeamendedtomorespecificallyincludeannexationsaspartofthetaxablepropertyoftheCityofCamas;andWHEREAS,theCityofCamas,afterhearing,andafterdulyconsideringallrelevantevidenceandtestimonypresented,hasdeterminedthattheCityofCamasrequiresanincreaseinpropertytaxrevenuefromthepreviousyear,inadditiontotheincreaseinthevalueofstate-assessedproperty,inordertodischargetheexpectedexpensesandobligationsoftheCityofCamasandinitsbestinterest;andWHEREAS,theCityofCamashasdeterminedthatitisinthebestinterestofandnecessarytomeettheexpensesandobligationsoftheCityofCamasforthepropertytaxrevenuetobeincreasedin1999.NOW,THEREFORE,THECOUNCILOFTHECITYOFCAMASDOORDAINASFOLLOWS:SectionIOrdinanceNo.2184,adoptedNovember23,1998,isherebyrepealed.SectionIIAnincreaseintheregularpropertytaxlevyontaxablepropertyintheCityofCamas,ClarkCounty,Washington,inadditiontoanyamountresultingfromtheadditionofanyannexationsandofnewconstructionandimprovementstopropertyandanyincreaseinthevalueofstate-assessedproperty,isherebyauthorizedforthe1999levyintheamountof$5,380,000.00.Thisisapercentageincreaseof.85percentfromthepreviousyear.
iMOrdinanceNo.^Page2SectionIIIThereisherebyleviedagainstthetaxablepropertyintheCityofCamas,ClarkCounty,Washington,designatedasCamasCodeNos.117.000,117.023,112.001,and117.026bytheAssessorofsaidcounty,alevyof$126,845.00,whichisalevyontheassessedvaluationforthepurposeofraisingfundsforpaymentofbondsandinterestfortheUnlimitedTaxGeneralObligationsBondsauthorizedbyavoteoftheelectorateoftheCityofCamastobepaidwithoutlimittothetaxlevy.Thelevyamountisequaltotheamountleviedin1998of$131,576.00less$4,731.00,whichisadecreaseof3.6percent.SectionIVThereisherebyleviedagainstthetaxablepropertyintheCityofCamas,ClarkCounty,Washington,alevyof$375,000.00oralimitof.25millsonassessedvaluationandinadditiontoanyamountresultingfromannexations,newconstructionandimprovementstopropertyandanyincreaseinthevalueofstate-assessedpropertyforthepurposeofprovidingemergencymedicalservices,asauthorizedbyavoteoftheelectorateoftheCityofCamas.Thisisapercentageincreaseof.85percentfromthepreviousyear.SectionVUpontheadoptionofthisordinance,theClerkshallcertifyacopyofsametotheBoardofCountyCommissionersforClarkCounty,asrequiredbyRCW84.52.020.SectionVIThisordinanceshalltakeforceandbeineffectfive(5)daysfromandafteritspublicationaccordingtolaw.PASSEDbytheCouncilandAPPROVEDbytheMayorthis4thdayofJanuary,1999.SIGNED:ATTEST:APPROVEDas*toform:/CityAttorney
