AN ORDINANCE amending Chapter 5 . 3 2 . 210 of the Camas
Municipal Code by exempting persons properly licensed in the
jurisdiction in which their principal office is located from obtaining
a taxicab driver ' s license issued by the City of Camas .
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
Section I
Section 5 . 32 . 210 of the Camas Municipal Code is amended to provide as follows .
5322 . 210 - Taxicab Driver ' s License Required
With the exception of any person properly licensed as a taxicab driver in the jurisdiction in
which their principal office is located , no person shall operate a taxicab for hire upon the
streets of the city , and no person who owns or controls a taxicab shall permit it to be so
driven , and no taxicab licensed by the city shall be so driven at any time for hire , unless the
driver of the taxicab has obtained and has then in force a taxicab driver ' s license issued
under the provisions of this chapter . Every applicant for a taxicab driver ' s license shall :
A . Be of the age of twenty - one years or over .
B . Be of sound physique , with good eyesight and not subject to epilepsy , vertigo ,
heart trouble , or any other infirmity of body or mind which might render the applicant unfit
for the safe operation of a taxicab ; and
C . Be able to speak , read and write the English language .
Section II
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its publication
according to law .
