ORD 2284 ORDINANCE NO ,
AN ORDINANCE reenacting Ordinance No . 2222 , and
amending Section 15 . 12 . 010 by adopting the 1997 Edition of the
Uniform Mechanical Code .
WHEREAS , on September 131, 1999 , the City Council enacted Ordinance 2222 , which
adopted the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code , including permit fees , and
WHEREAS , Washington voters have approved Initiative 722 , which in part invalidates
all tax and fee increases adopted by local governments between July 2 , 1999 , and December 31 ,
1999 , and
WHEREAS , several cities have filed suit challenging the constitutionality of Initiative
722 , and
WHEREAS , due to the uncertainty resulting from the passage of Initiative 722 and the
legal challenges thereto , the City Council desires to reenact Ordinance No . 2222 and the permit
fees set forth therein ,
NOW , THEREFORE , THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
Section I
Ordinance No . 2222 , which adopted the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code
including permit fees , is hereby reenacted , confirmed and ratified effective January 1 , 2000 .
Section II
Section 15 . 12 . 010 of the Camas Municipal Code is amended to provide as follows :
15 . 12 . 010 - Adoption of Uniform Mechanical Code .
A . There is hereby adopted by the City for the purpose
of establishing minimum standards for the design ,
installation and maintenance of heat producing and
cooling appliances the 1997 Edition of the Uniform
Mechanical Code , including Appendix B , Chapter
15 ( solar systems ) , Appendix C , Chapter 8 ( sizing
of venting systems serving appliances equipped
with draft hoods and appliances listed for use with
type B vents ( and the Washington State
amendments to the Uniform Mechanical Code as set
forth in Chapter 51 - 42 of the Washington
Administrative Code . One ( 1 ) copy of the 1997
Edition of the Uniform Mechanical Code including
Appendices B and C and one ( 1 ) copy of Chapter
51 - 42 of the Washington Administrative Code shall
be filed in the office of the Clerk of the City .

B * The fees set forth in Table 1 -A Mechanical Permit
Fees of the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Mechanical
Code shall be amended as follows :
Item 10 - Gas Pipinia :

For each fuel gas piping system of 1 to 5 outlets $ 6 . 15 .
For each fuel gas piping system , additional outlets over
5 , each $ 1 . 15 .
Item 11 - Process Piping :
For each hazardous process piping system (IPP ) of 1 -
4 outlets $ 5 . 50 .
For each piping system of 5 or more outlets , per outlet
$ 1 . 15 .
For each non-hazardous process piping system (MPP )
of 1 - 4 outlets $ 2 . 30
For each piping system of 5 or more outlets , per outlet
$ . 55 .
Section III
If any section , clause or phrase of this ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid
for any reason , such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the
ordinance .
Section IV
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its publication
according to law .
