ORD 2283 ORDINANCE NO .
AN ORDINANCE reenacting Ordinance No . 2218 , and
amending Section 15 . 08 . 020 of the Camas Municipal Code by
adopting the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code .
WHEREAS , on September 13 , 1999 , the City Council enacted Ordinance No . 2218 ,
which adopted the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code , including permit fees , and
WHEREAS , Washington voters have approved Initiative 722 , which in part invalidates
all tax and fee increases adopted by local governments between July 2 , 1999 , and December 31 ,
1999 , and
WHEREAS , several cities have filed suit challenging the constitutionality of Initiative
722 , and
WHEREAS , due to the uncertainty resulting from the passage of Initiative 722 and the
legal challenges thereto , the City Council desires to reenact Ordinance No . 2218 and the permit
fees set forth therein ,
NOW , THEREFORE , THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
Section I
Ordinance No . 2218 , which adopted the 1997 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code ,
including permit fees , is hereby reenacted , confirmed and ratified effective January 1 , 2000 .
Section II
Section 15 . 08 . 020 of the Camas Municipal Code is amended to provide as follows :
15 . 08 . 020 - A . There is hereby adopted by the City for the
purpose of establishing rules and regulations
for plumbing and drainage systems , the 1997
Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code
including Appendices A (Recommended
Rules for Sizing the Water Supply System) ,
B (Explanatory notes on combination waste
and vent systems ) , C (Additional Reference
Standards ) , D ( Sizing Storm Water Drainage
Systems ) , H (Recommended Procedures for
Design , Construction and Installation of
Commercial Kitchen Grease Interceptors ) , J
(Reclaimed Water Systems for Non-
Residential Buildings ) , L (Alternate
Plumbing Systems ) , and the Washington
State Amendments to the Uniform Plumbing
Code as set forth in Chapters 51 - 46 and 51 -
47 of the Washington Administrative Code .
One ( 1 ) copy of the 1997 Edition of the
Uniform Plumbing Code including
Appendices A , B , C , D , H , J , and L and one

( 1 ) copy of Chapters 51 - 46 and 51 - 47 of the
Washington Administrative Code shall be
filed in the office of the Clerk of the City .
B . The following amendments and deletions to
the 1997 Edition of the Washington
Administrative Code are hereby adopted :
1 . Items 7 and 8 of Table 1 - 1 , plumbing
permit fees , are deleted .
2 . Table 1 - 1 , plumbing permit fees , is
further amended to provide that the
fees for initial installation of a
reclaimed water system , inspections
outside of normal business hours , re -
inspections , inspections for which no
fee is specifically indicated , and
additional plan review required by
changes , additions , or revisions to
approve plans (minimum charge - Y2
hour) shall be $ 49 . 50 per hour for
each hour worked or the total hourly
cost to the City , whichever is greater .
This cost shall include supervision ,
overhead , equipment , hourly wages
and fringe benefits of all employees

Section III
If any section , clause or phrase of this ordinance is declared unconstitutional or invalid
for any reason , such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the
ordinance .
Section III
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its publication
according to law .
