AN ORDINANCE approving and adopting a comprehensive park
and recreation plan and repealing the Parks and Recreation Master
Plan developed in 1987 .
WHEREAS , by Ordinance No . 1636 , the - Council adopted and approved a volume of text
entitled " City of Camas Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan" dated February 17 , 1987 , and
WHEREAS , by Ordinance No . 1815 , the Council adopted certain modifications and
additions to the 1987 Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan , and
WHEREAS , the Council has commissioned J . D . Walsh and Associates and J . C .
Draggoo and Associates to undertake an update to the Park and Open Space Comprehensive
Plan , and
WHEREAS , the report and recommendations of the consultants have been submitted to
the Council for consideration and review ,
NOW , THEREFORE , THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
Section I
The Council hereby approves and adopts a volume of text entitled " Parks , Recreation, and
Open Space Comprehensive Plan" dated January 3 , 2000 , as the official policy and plan for the
growth and development of parks , open space , and recreational facilities and services within the
study area as defined in said Plan .
Section II
Copies of said Comprehensive Plan Update shall be located in the Council file on these
proceedings , and copies of said Comprehensive Plan Update shall be made available for
inspection by the public at the Public Works Department of the City .
Section III
This Comprehensive Plan Update shall replace and supersede the " City of Camas
Comprehensive Park and Recreation Plan" dated February 17 , 1987 , as modified by Ordinance
No . 1815 .
Section IV
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its publication
according to law .
