AN ORDINANCE modifying Chapter 15 . 17 of the Camas
Municipal Code by revising the regulations for residential
automatic fire sprinkler systems .
WHEREAS , the Council heretofore adopted Ordinance No . 2382 which in part provided
for building contracts to provide certain educational materials concerning automatic fire sprinkler
systems and an estimate of installation of such a system to purchasers of residential structures ,
and ,
WHEREAS , the Council finds that the educational program has not resulted in an
increase in automatic fire sprinkler systems , that staff reductions in the Fire Marshals office do
not permit continuation of the educational program for automatic fire sprinkler systems , and that
repeal of the educational program will allow fire department personnel to more effectively use
their available time ,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMAS AS FOLLOWS
Section I
Section 15 . 17 . 010 of the Camas Municipal Code is amended to provide as follows :
15 . 17 . 010 Definitions .
As used in this chapter :
" Automatic fire sprinkler systems " means automatic fire sprinkler
systems installed in single - family and duplex residences that comply with
National Fire Protection Association Standard 13D .
" Home sales office " means a new single - family duplex residential
structure that is temporarily used as an office to market residences within
a development .
" Model home " means a new single - family or duplex residential .
structure used as an example for the purpose of marketing similarly
constructed homes . A model homewill be open for public display, may be
advertised as a model home , may be furnished , and may also be used as a
home sales office .
Section II
Section 15 . 17 . 020 . of the Camas Municipal Code is repealed .
Section III
Section 15 . 17 . 030 of the Camas Municipal Code is repealed .
Section IV
Section 15 . 17 . 040 of the Camas. Municipal Code is repealed .

Section V
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its Publication
according to law .
