AN ORDINANCE amending Section 2 . 18 . 020 by revising the
point system for compensation of volunteer firefighters ,
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
Section I
Section 2 . 18 . 020 of the Camas Municipal Code is amended top rovide as follows :
2 . 18 . 020 - Compensation computed by point system . The method
of determining the compensation for volunteer firemen for services
referred to in Section 2 . 18 . 010 shall be by computing the total
points acquired by all eligible firemen for the year commencing on
December 26th and ending on the following December 25th , or any .
portion thereof, and dividing such total into the money remaining
in the fire call fund as of December 25th of the current year to gain
the - value of one point , provided , however , that the maximum value
for one point shall be $ 4 . 00 . All volunteer firemen in good
standing as of December 25 " and who have acquired points
according to the schedule set forth in Section 2 . 18 . 030 shall be
paid in an amount equal to the, total value of their points
accumulated during the year . Points awarded to the volunteer
firemen shall be of value only during the year the same shall be
earned .
In the event that money remains in the fire call fund after payment
of points to the volunteer firemen as provided herein , such money
shall . be distributed to the volunteer firefighters fund to be used for
funding the civic and charitable activities of the volunteer
firefighters .
Section II
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its p ublication
according to law .
