ORD 2149 ORDINANCE NO ,
AN ORDINANCE supplementing Ordinance No . 2139 , which
levied ad valorem taxes necessary to finance the anticipated
requirements of the City of Camas for the fiscal year ending
December 31 , 1998 .
WHEREAS , on November 24 , 1997 , the City of Camas enacted Ordinance No . 2139 ,
which levied the ad valorem taxes necessary to finance the anticipated requirements of the City
of Camas for the fiscal year ending December , 31 , 1998 , and
WHEREAS , at the time of adoption of Ordinance No . 2139 , the increase in assessed
value attributable to new construction and state assessed property was not available , and
WHEREAS , the Assessor ' s Office has informed the Finance Director that the increase in
assessed value due to new construction and state assessed properties is $ 1 , 380 , 239 , 676 . 00 , and
WHEREAS , the tax levy on such amount is $ 947 , 000 . 00 , and
WHEREAS , the Council desires to levy taxes against new construction and state assessed
property , now , therefore ,
IT IS HEREBY ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS AS
FOLLOWS :
Section I
There is hereby levied against the taxable property in the City of Camas , Clark County ,
Washington , designated as Camas Code Nos . 117 . 000 , 117 . 023 , 112 . 001 , and 117 . 026 by the
Assessor of said county , a levy of 3 . 60 mills on the assessed valuation for the purpose of raising
funds for the operation of the General Government and paying interest and general obligation
bond redemption of the City of Camas . The total levy amount of $ 4 , 952 , 000 . 00 is equal to the
amount levied in 1997 of $ 3 , 778 , 286 . 00 plus $ 226 , 697 . 00 , which is an increase of six percent ,
plus $ 947 , 000 . 00 which is the amount allowed under the new construction provisions of RCW
84 . 55 . 010 .
Section Il
There is hereby levied against the taxable property in the City of Camas , Clark County ,
Washington , designated as Camas Code Nos . 117 . 000 , 117 . 023 , 112 . 001 , and 117 . 026 by the
Assessor of said county , a levy of . 25 mills on the assessed valuation for the purpose of providing
emergency medical services as authorized by a vote of the electorate of the City of Camas . The

total levy amount of $ 343 , 856 . 00 is equal to the amount levied in 1997 of $ 262 , 653 . 00 plus
$ 15 , 759 . 00 , which is an increase of six percent , plus $ 65 , 444 . 00 which is the amount allowed
under the new construction provisions of RCw 84 . 55 . 010 .
Section III
This ordinance is intended to replace Sections I and III of Ordinance No . 2139 . Sections
II , IV , and V of Ordinance No . 2139 shall remain in full force and effect ,
Section IV
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its publication
according to law .
