AN ORDINANCE amending Section 8.58.023 of the Camas
Municipal Code, relating to the discharge and sale of fireworks
during periods of extreme fire danger
NOW, WHEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Camas Municipal Code Section 8.58.023 —Emergencies —Restrictions on use is hereby
amended to provide as follows:
8.58.023 Emergencies —Restrictions on use and sale
The fire chief may prohibit the discharge and sale of all fireworks during periods of
extreme fire danger. For the purposes of this chapter, the term "extreme fire danger"
shall mean a period of hot, dry weather, accompanied by low fuel moistures. It is
during this period that wildland fires can be expected, and fire growth will be
accelerated. The provisions of this section are intended to supplement, and not replace,
the emergency powers otherwise available pursuant to Chapters 2.48 and 8.56 of the
Municipal Code.
Section II
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect one year from and after its passage and
publication as provided by law.
