ORD 2587 ORDINANCE NO .
AN ORDINANCE amending Chapter 2 . 24 of the Camas
Municipal Code to reflect a reorganization of the Department of
Public Works and subordinate departments .
The Council of the City of Camas do ordain as follows :
Section I
Chapter 2 . 24 , Department of Public Works , is hereby repealed and replaced to provide as
set forth in the attached Exhibit " A " , attached hereto and by this reference incorporated herein .
Section II
This Ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( S ) days from and after its
publication according to law .

There is created and established within the city a department of public works . The
administrative head of the department shall be known as the public works director .

2 . 24 . 020 Director - Appointment and compensation .
The mayor shall appoint the public works director and such appointment shall be
confirmed by the city council . The salary for such officer shall be as designated by Section
2 . 64 . 020 .

The department of public works shall consist of the following departments :
A . Water- sewer department ;
B . Park maintenance department ;
C . Street/storm/facility department ;
D . Sanitary service department ;
E . Equipment rental department .

The Public Works Director may assign administrative duties and responsibilities under
this chapter to appropriate department managers and staff.
