ORD 2586 ORDINANCE NO .
AN ORDINANCE amending Chapter 2 . 26 of the Camas
Municipal Code to reflect a reorganization of the Community
Development Department and subordinate departments .
The Council of the City of Camas do ordain as follows :
Section I
Chapter 2 . 26 , Community Development Department , is hereby repealed and replaced to
provide as set forth in the attached Exhibit " B " , attached hereto and by this reference
incorporated herein .
Section II
This Ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its
publication according to law .

It is created and established within the city a community development department .

2 . 26 . 020 Director - Appointment and compensation .
The administrative head of the community development department shall be known as the
community development director . The mayor shall appoint the community development director
and such appointment shall be confirmed by the city council . The salary for such officer shall be
established in accordance with the provisions of Section 2 . 64 . 020 of the Camas Municipal Code .

2 . 26 . 030 Subordinate departments .
The community development department shall consist of the following subordinate
departments :
A . Planning department , including development review, code review, zoning , annexations , land
division , and long and short range planning ;
B . Protective Inspections including the building code and miscellaneous development codes ;
C . Environmental , including administration of the State Environmental Policy Act and the State
Shorelines Act ;
D . Economic development including commercial and industrial development ;
E . Engineering department , the manager of which shall be the city engineer or engineering
manager .
2 . 26 . 040 Delegation ,
The Community Development Director may assign administrative duties and
responsibilities under this chapter to appropriate department managers and staff.
