ORD 2580 ORDINANCE No .
AN ORDINANCE levying the ad valorem taxes for
the obligations of the General Fund for the fiscal
year ending December 31 , 2010 , and repealing
Ordinance No . 2564 .
WHEREAS , the Council of the City of Camas has met and considered its budget for the
calendar year 2010 , and
WHEREAS , the City' s actual levy amount from the previous year was Nine Million
Seven Hundred Nineteen Thousand Four Hundred Sixty- One Dollars and Ninety- Six Cents
( $ 9 , 719 , 461 . 96 ) , and
WHEREAS , the population of the City is more than ten thousand persons ,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMAS as follows
SECTION I
An increase in the regular property tax levy is hereby authorized for the levy to be
collected in the 2010 tax year .
SECTION II
The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year
shall be Eighty-two Thousand Four Hundred Twenty- One Dollars and Four Cents ( $ 82 , 421 . 04 )
which is a percentage increase of . 848 percent from the preceding year . This increase is
exclusive of additional revenue resulting from new construction , improvements to property ,
newly constructed wind turbines , any increase in the value of state assessed property , any
annexations that have occurred, and any refunds made .
SECTION III
A certified budget request or estimate shall be filed with the County Assessors office ,
separate from this Ordinance . As required by RCw 84 . 52 . 020 , that filing certifies the total
amount to be levied by the regular property tax levy . The form for this purpose is titled " Levy
Certification " and is available through the Assessor' s office . Certification is made in a manner
prescribed by the County Assessor ' s office .
SECTION IV
Ordinance No . 2564 be and the same is hereby repealed .
SECTION V
This Ordinance shall tal{e force and be in effect five days from and after its publication
