ORD 2544 ORDINANCE NO . S L L(
AN ORDINANCE amending the 1998 City of Camas Shoreline
Master Program - by allowing appropriately designed trails in
shorelines with natural designations , and by modifying the
geographic boundaries of the conservancy and urban medium
designations on the north side of the Washougal River .
WHEREAS , on July 28 , 2008 , the City sent a letter to the Department of Ecology
initiating review of limited amendments to the Camas Shoreline Master Program , and
WHEREAS , on September 23 , September 30 , and October 7 , 2008 , the City gave notice
of an Open House meeting to consider the proposed amendments , and
WHEREAS , on October 8 , 2008 , the City held an Open House meeting to consider the
proposed amendments to the Camas Shoreline Master Program , and
WHEREAS , on November 17 , 2008 , the City met with representatives of the Department
of Ecology to consider the proposed amendments , and
WHEREAS , on February 3 , 2009 , the responsible official issued a Determination of Non-
Significance under the State Environmental Policy Act , and
WHEREAS , on February 17 , 2009 , the Planning Commission held a public hearing on
the proposed amendments and thereafter issued its recommendation that the amendments be
adopted , and
WHEREAS , on March 16 , 2009 , the City Council held a public hearing on the proposed
amendments , and
WHEREAS , the City Council has determined that the proposed amendments should be
adopted ,
NOW , THEREFORE , BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMAS AS FOLLOWS .
Section 1 .
The Camas Shoreline Master Program is amended to permit trails in the natural shoreline

Characterization Report " and " Camas Shoreline Management Recommended Policy and Code
Amendments - Limited Amendment " , both prepared by Parametrics , December , 2008 .
Section 2 .
The geographic boundaries of the conservancy and urban medium designations on the
Ordinance No . Page - 2
north side of the Washougal River in the area of the Bowling Alley Site are modified consistent
with the " Washougal River Bowling Alley Site Shoreline Inventory and Characterization Report "
and " Camas Shoreline Management Recommended Policy and Code Amendments - Limited
Amendment " , both prepared by Parametrics , December 2008 .
Section 3 .
This Ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its
publication according to law .
