AN ORDINANCE amending Chapter 2 . 11 of the Camas
Municipal Code by modifying the provisions relating to the
appointment and removal of the Police Chief and Fire Chief.
The Council of the City of Camas do ordain as follows :
Section I
Section 2 . 11 . 030 of the Camas Municipal Code , which established eligibility provisions
for the positions of Fire Chief and Police Chief, is hereby repealed .
Section II
Section 2 . 11 . 040 of the Camas Municipal Code is amended to provide as follows :
2 . 11 . 040 Qualifications : The necessary qualifications , knowledge ,
abilities and representative duties for the positions of Fire Chief and Police
Chief are as set forth in the j ob descriptions for such positions in the " City
of Camas Class Specifications " . The selection process to fill vacancies in
the position of Fire Chief or Police Chief shall be designed to determine
the most qualified applicants on the basis of the qualifications , knowledge ,
abilities and representative duties as set forth in the respective job
descriptions for those positions .
Section III
This Ordinance shall take force and be in effect five ( 5 ) days from and after its
publication according to law .
