ORD 16-020ORDINANCE NO. 16-020 AN ORDINANCE levying the ad valorem taxes for obligations of the General Fund for fiscal year ending December 31, 2017. WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Camas has met and considered its budget for the calendar year 2017, and WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 16-018, the City Council found and declared a substantial need for using the 101% limit factor under RCW Chapter 84.55; and WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Camas after hearing and after duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, determined that the City of Camas requires a regular levy in the amount of$10,912,282 which is equal to the property tax revenue from the previous year, and excludes amounts resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state-assessed property, and amounts authorized by law as a result of any annexations that have occurred and refunds made, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the City and in its best interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS as follows: SECTION I The dollar amount of the increase over the actual levy amount from the previous year shall be $108,042, which is a percentage increase of 1.0% from the previous year. This is exclusive of additional revenue resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property, and any additional amounts resulting from any annexation that have occurred and refunds made. Ordinance No. 16-020 SECTION II A CERTIFIED BUDGET request or estimate shall be filed with the County Assessor's Office, separate from this ordinance. As required by RCW 84.52.020, that filing certifies the total amount to be levied by the regular property tax levy. The form for this purpose is titled "Levy Certification" and is available through the Assessor's Office. Certification is made in a manner prescribed by the County Assessor's Office. SECTION III This Ordinance shall take force and be in effect five days from and after its publication according to law.
