RES 969RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION adopting a moratorium for the acceptance of
development applications for property located within 1000 feet of
any of the City’s municipal water wells.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS as follows:
Section I
The Council makes the following findings:
A)The City has a system of water wells which supply water to the municipal
water system.
B)The quality of water from the wells could be adversely affected by
development activity occurring in proximity to the wells.
C)The City is currently in the process of preparing an ordinance to regulate
development activity proximate to the wells so as to assure that water quality is not contaminated
by development activity.
D)The City Council desires to prevent any interim degradation of water quality
by adoption of a moratorium on accepting applications for development activities for properties
in proximity to the City’s wells.
Section II
As used herein,“development application”shall mean an application for a short plat,
subdivision,binding site plan approval,planned development,conditional use permit,temporary
use permit,unclassified use permit,building permit,and any permit under the Shorelines
Management Act.
Section III
No development applications may be accepted by the City for any property whose
boundary is located within 1000 feet of any City water well.
Section IV
The moratorium established herein shall expire six months from the date of adoption of
this resolution or upon enactment of the ordinance regulating development activity proximate to

the City’s wells,whichever shall first occur.
