A RESOLUTION authorizing the Mayor and Clerk
to enter into a contract with the Washington
State Department of Transportation,to participate
in Federal Funded Street Projects for the purpose
of obtaining funding for street improvements to
Lake Road /SE 1st Street
WHEREAS,the federal government,through its Department of Transportation,pursuant
to Title 23,U.S.Code of Highways,has established programs of federal aid to the states,for the
general purposes of which is to increase the capacity and/or safety of arterials in the United States;
and
WHEREAS,the federal government has designated the State of Washington to contract
with municipal corporations to accomplish federal aid projects with the aid of federal aid funds
provided under Federal Highway Acts,Title 23,U.S.Code,Highways,federal aid programs and
all amendments thereto and the rules and regulations promulgated by said U.S.Department of
Transportation;and
WHEREAS,the City of Camas desires to enter into an agreement with the State of
Washington to participate in the federal program to provide improvements to Lake Road .
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF
CAMAS AS FOLLOWS:
Section I
That the Mayor and Clerk of the City of Camas be and they are hereby further authorized
and directed to enter into a contract entitled “Washington State Department of Transportation,
City/County Agreement with the State of Washington”,a copy of which,marked Exhibit “A”,is
attached hereto and by this reference is incorporated herein.
Section II
That the Director of Public Works be and he is hereby directed to administer the
provisions of said contracts on behalf of the City of Camas upon the execution thereof.
Section III
That the City Clerk be and she is hereby directed to transmit a certified copy of this
resolution to the officials of the State Department of Transportation in charge of negotiating these
contracts.
