A RESOLUTION re-adopting Resolution No.879,and
establishing a fee for replacement of street signs.
WHEREAS,on September 13,1999,the City Council adopted Resolution No.879,
which established a fee for replacement of street signs,and
WHEREAS,Washington voters have approved Initiative 722,which in part invalidates
all tax and fee increases adopted by local governments between July 2,1999,and December 31 ,
1999,and
WHEREAS,several cities have filed suit challenging the constitutionality of Initiative
722,and
WHEREAS,due to the uncertainty surrounding the passage of Initiative 722 and the legal
challenges thereto,the City Council desires to re-adopt the fees for replacement of street signs,
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CAMAS AS FOLLOWS :
Section I
Resolution No.879,which established fees for the replacement of street signs,is hereby
re-adopted ,confirmed and ratified effective January 1,2000 .
Section II
Any person who damages a street identification or traffic sign or the post for such signs
shall reimburse the City for the cost of repair and/or replacement thereof.
Section III
The cost to be paid to the City shall be the actual cost of replacement materials plus a
$75.00 fee to pay for City labor,equipment,and overhead.
Section IV
If any section,clause or phrase of this resolution is declared unconstitutional or invalid
for any reason,such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of the
resolution.
