AN ORDINANCE amending Section 8.58.030 of the Camas
Municipal Code, relating to violations and penalties of the City of
Camas fireworks code.
NOW, WHEREFORE, THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CAMAS DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:

Camas Municipal Code Section 8.58.030 —Violation —Penalty is hereby amended to provide
as follows:
A. The Fire Marshal or his/her designee is the enforcing officer. of this chapter. Any violation of
provisions of Chapter 70.77 RCW, this chapter, or a permit issued under this chapter, or any
failure or refusal on the part of a permittee to obey any rule, regulation or request of the Fire
Marshal concerning fireworks, shall be grounds for revocation of a firework permit. In the
case of a conviction for a violation of this chapter, the Fire Marshal or designee may order
the fireworks stand closed and may deny approval of a request by the person for a fireworks
permit for a period of one year.
B. Unless otherwise provided below, any person violating or failing to comply with the
provisions of this chapter which does not also constitute a violation of state law shall be
guilty of a civil infraction and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of $250.00
for the first offense, $500.00 for the second offense, $750.00 for the third offense and
$1000.00 for each subsequent offense within a three-year period.
C. The Fire Marshal or designee, Camas Police Depart
ment and the City Code Enforcement
Officer shall have authority to issue citations to enforce this chapter.
D. Seizure and Forfeiture of Fireworks. In addition to monetary penalties and prosecution,
enforcement personnel from the Camas -Washougal Fire Department or Camas Police
Department may seize and dispose of fireworks that are in violation of this chapter,
according to law.
Section II
This ordinance shall take force and be in effect five (5) days from and after its passage and
publication as provided by law.
